Singer/songwriter Andrea Gillis says, "This song is about a girl; a girl in your world likely to forget...
I wrote this tune not only with myself in mind, but also for all the girls that never really wanted to do the whole "gotta be sexy so people will pay attention thing." Though it is unavoidable, we all go through the phase, uncomfortably. We just do our thing.
Hanging with our pals, rockin' out, getting "real" jobs, having families, going out on weekends, etc.
About A Girl is completely about what you hear on the recording, there are no hidden meanings or weird underlying things that I didn't want people to hear in case it wasn't "cool." This tune is from me to you ladies!
My sister pal Tanya Donelly (Belly, Loyal Seas) finished this tune with her incredible voice, she took it to another place. I'm still pinching myself..
